

Her parents and family members are finding it difficult to raise the money needed for a surgery to correct the situation.
A 22-year-old woman who has never experienced her menstrual cycle has appealed to the public to assist her to undergo a surgical incision at the cost of Ghc3,500 to correct her situation.
Georgina Anim Aba currently stays with her parents at Gwantuakrom near Asankrangwa in the Amenfi West District of the Western Region.
She told the Finder Newspaper that her parents and family members are finding it difficult to raise the money and so people should come to her aid.

She said that when she first complained about her condition, she was told by some women that it was normal as others are in the same condition.
Georgina, however, realised how alarming her situation was when a boyfriend she had found it difficult to penetrate her when they were making love.
She said a gynaecologist at the OkomfoAnokye Teaching Hospital subsequently assessed her and confirmed that she has an imperforate hymen - a congenital disorder where a hymen without an opening completely obstructs the vagina.

According to her, the situation can be corrected “but it is the financial cost of Ghc3,500 which is now the big barrier.
“I, therefore, humbly appeal to the general public to come to my aid so I can lead a normal life”.
