

Two persons have so far been confirmed dead as a result of the heavy downpour.
Former president, John Dramani Mahama is saddened by the loss of lives, properties, and livelihoods as a result of the heavy downpour at Tamale in the Northern region.
A 59-year-old woman, as well as, a class 2 pupil has so far been confirmed dead following the incident. Scores of people have also been displaced.
The former president has, on his Facebook page, assured all victims of his support and prayers in these hard times.

Meanwhile, the government, through an official statement has revealed measures to deal with the issue.
"The president has constituted a high powered government delegation to visit the affected areas and assess the situation. Government wishes to assure all affected persons of plans to alleviate their suffering," a statement signed by the information minister, Mustapha Hamid revealed.
The three-hour downpour also caused flooding in other parts of the metropolis. Areas affected were Kanvili- Tunayili, Gumani, Kunyavilli.
The Tamale Teaching Hospital was also flooded as a result.
