The founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has said that the death of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama is spiritual.
He explained that the Captain’s death was a part of the punishments former President John Mahama’s family must suffer for all the ‘demonic’ actions or spiritual charms he took to become head of state.
He cited the biblical story of David and the Gibeonites.

He said, during the long famine in the days of David, David sought for the presence of God and the Lord said, “it is for Saul and his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death" so David called the Gibeonites and spoke to them and the they demanded seven men from Saul's sons to be given to them to be hanged to pacify their ancestors which David did.
Rev. Owusu Bempah further explained that Capt Maxwell Mahama represents one of the seven sons (family) of former President Mahama who must suffer punishments in order to cleanse the land.
He added that to avert this, the clergy in Ghana must fast and pray for God to avert His anger against the country.

Some Ghanaians and political parties have attributed the death to the Nana Addo-led government.
However, Rev Owusu-Bempah said this incident must not be politicised but rather blamed on the former administration especially the leader who used charms, buried live cow, and other daemonic steps to win the 2012 elections.
Rev. Owusu-Bempah at a special service recently put the destiny of the country into President Nana Akufo-Addo’s hand.
He gave him a horn during a special church service.
