
In a phone interview with Daily Guide, COP Kofi Boakye said the meeting was short and brief.
“I went there at about 9 am and by 9.30 am I had left the place. I went there myself and explained things to them. It was not an arrest; it was a chat,” he told the newspaper.
It emerged few days ago that a senior Commissioner of Police (COP) had been picked up by a combined team of National Security and Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) operatives, for his alleged involvement in an elaborate plot to destabilise the country.
According to sources, the said COP is alleged to have been in close contact with the alleged coup plotters and had been designated to read out a broadcast to the nation after the takeover of government machinery.
However, Kofi Boakye denying any involvement in the scheme refuted reports that he was in police custody.
“It must be noted that I have absolutely nothing to do with coup plot directly or indirectly for the avoidance of doubt.”
“I was neither arrested nor am I on bail. There is nothing like what is being said,” he added. Read Full Story
