Mensah’s switch was completed on 12 August 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027. He will return to Leverkusen Under-19s when the loan ends, with Roda JC competing in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
The move takes Mensah from Germany’s U19 Nachwuchsliga to senior football in the Netherlands. Roda JC are based in Kerkrade and will provide the midfielder with an opportunity to play in a first-team league environment during the 2026-27 campaign.
Mensah is listed as an attacking midfielder and stands 1.77m tall. He began the current season with Leverkusen Under-19s and scored once in his only appearance in the DFB-Pokal der Junioren.
His goal came in a match in which he started, giving him a goal participation rate of 25% from his available playing time in the competition. Mensah’s current market value is listed at €2m.
The teenager joined Leverkusen’s youth set-up in 2023, moving from the club’s youth side to the Under-17s before stepping up to the Under-19 team in July 2025. The progression took him through two age groups before his temporary move abroad.
Mensah holds German and Ghanaian nationality. His arrival at Roda JC adds an attacking midfield option to a squad competing in the Netherlands’ second tier, while the agreement keeps his registration linked to Leverkusen beyond the loan period.
Roda JC have therefore secured Mensah’s services for the 2026-27 season, with the midfielder contracted to return to Leverkusen Under-19s on 30 June 2027.
