Kotoko boss Prosper Ogum urges strikers to improve on their finishing despite FA Cup victory
Asante Kotoko coach, Dr. Prosper Nartex Ogum, has called on his strikers to improve their finishing skills, despite the team's 1-0 win over Sekondi XI Wise in the MTeto MTN FA Cup round of 16.The win, courtesy of a Kyei Baffour strike in the first half, qualified Kotoko for the quarterfinals, where they will face True Democracy. However, Dr. Ogum emphasised that the team's inability to convert scoring opportunities into goals remains a major concern.Defensively we looked very solid, offensively, there is a lot of creativity there, what is left is to put the ball at the back of the net.He noted that the team's failure to capitalize on clear chances was evident in the first 15 minutes of the game.Like you saw today, look at the first half, the first 15 minutes, obvious opportunities we were missing them.Dr. Ogum stressed that improving their conversion rate is crucial for the team's success. What do I think out of the two games we have to improve? I think its all about conversion. Once we are able to work on our conversion that will be fine for us.Kotoko will return to Ghana Premier League action on Saturday, March 16, against FC Samartex in Samreboi, where they will aim to maintain their lead at the top of the 16-team standings.
