Emmanuel Adebayor explains why he ditched Ghana to play for Togo
[caption id=attachment_440970 align=alignnone width=300] Emmanuel Adebayor[/caption]Former Togolese international Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed the reasons behind his decision to ditch Ghana and play for Togo instead.According to Adebayor, he had the opportunity to represent Ghana at the junior level but struggled to communicate with his teammates.Adebayor explained that during his time in the Ghanaian national team camp, he couldn't understand the local languages, Twi and Ga, which made him feel isolated. He recalled, When I went to camp, they were speaking Twi, GaI couldn't understand. So around 4 a.m., I carried my bag, carried my box, and the first trotrowe call it a busgoing towards Lom, back home.Adebayor eventually made his debut for Togo in 2000 and went on to become the nation's all-time top scorer.He led Togo to their first-ever FIFA World Cup in 2006 and won the African Footballer of the Year award in the same year.
