The National President of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Ghana, Emmanuel Baba Mahama, has disclosed that the Distinguished Footprints Awards, which is in its second year, was instituted to promote humanitarian services among the Christian fraternity.
Speaking at this year’s awards ceremony held last Saturday at Labadi, Mr. Mahama indicated that the awards begun as a window of recognition for staff of the fellowship.
“The award begun as a window of recognition, especially for our staff, then along the line we took into account the large army of volunteers that we have, and finally it dawned on us that the idea of celebrating be extended to the larger public to promote humanitarian services,” he disclosed.
He added that this year’s awards recognised people who are changing society in services to humanity.
Chairman of FGBMFI Annual Awards Committee, Dr. Joe Tachie, said the award winners were chosen after several months of diligent work, search, and deliberations, indicating that the winners deserve national recognition for their hard work, initiative, sacrifice and Christian service.
The Best Ladies of the Fellowship (LOTF) Project winners include Mrs. Juliana Danso-Badu, (2nd Runner-up), Mrs. Luigia Zakkour, (1st Runner-up), and Prof. Peace Mamle Tetteh (winner). They received an award plaque and a citation of recognition.
The Lifetime awardees include Mr. Kingsford Amoah, Mr. Timothy Eric Ati, Mr. John Erasmus Frimpong, Mr. Frank George Hutchful, Mr. Mike Osafo Mensah, and Mr. Wexford Owusu Amoah (Posthumous).
At the National Award Level, Felix Kamassah was honoured under the Agriculture and Food Security category; Esi Buobasa, Environmental Impact; Victor Yaw Asante, Social Impact; Prof. Afua Adwo Jectey Hesse, Health; Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, Sport; Compassion International Ghana, Church/ Para Church; and Enyonam Ansah, Public Spiritedness.
