The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged that under his presidency, there will not be more than 50 ministers and deputy ministers.
According to Dr. Bawumia, an efficient system of governance will require fewer ministers, hence, his decision to have lesser ministers. “I would have no more than 50 ministers and deputy ministers,” he pledged.
Dr. Bawumia disclosed this yesterday in his ‘Ghana’s Next Chapter’ speech in Accra.
The event, which was televised on almost all television networks, was also well attended by members of the diplomatic corps, the clergy, civil society organisations, NPP functionaries, among others.
