Executive Director of the Centre for Communication and Culture, Enimil Ashon, has launched his first book titled ‘Miracles, God’s Living Realities’.
The book which according to him took about four years to put together is a compilation of people’s testimonies of God’s divine intervention in their lives.
In an interview on the sidelines of the book launch which took place on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the Christ the King School, Mr. Ashon disclosed what he intends to achieve with the book.
“This book is to tell especially Christians that you don’t need to chase miracles, miracles will come to you. Jesus himself said these signs shall follow them that believe, he didn’t say we should follow signs. If I achieve that among even 10 percent of Christians in this country I’ll be satisfied,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Founder and Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil, who was the Special Guest of honour, described the book as an inspiration, especially for young believers.
“I have had the privilege of looking at it beforehand and read some of the testimonies and discussed some of them. I can say without any shadow of doubt that this is an inspiration to the Christian. And if you want to encourage young Christians to grow in their faith beyond their Bible, there is no better book than a book that lets them know that God is still at work and not in a manipulative way but in the lives of ordinary people in their daily walk, seeing God at work in their lives,” he said.
Enimil Ashon also used the opportunity to call on Ghanaians to continue adhering to the COVID-19 safety protocols.
“To wear your mask is an act of faith, to sanitize your hand is an act of faith so please it is not a fairytale being told us by anybody. Nobody is deceiving us. Let’s wear our mask, let’s sanitize, let us social distance ourselves. COVID will go away if we do that.”
The author, Enimil Ashon is the immediate past Editor of the Ghanaian Times and Weekly Spectator.
Prior to these appointments, he was the art critic for the two newspapers.
One time member of the Board of Directors of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), he also once served on the Ghana Cinematographic Board of Control for three consecutive years and was for two consecutive years, a member of the Adjudicating Panel of the annual NAFTI Film Festival.
He was a one-time President and General Secretary of the Arts Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies and a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in African Studies, both from the University of Ghana.
He is a columnist who has written several opinionated articles about happenings in the country, however, this is his first complete book to be published.
“Let’s pursue peace. You don’t need to kill yourself because somebody has to win an election. That person you’re killing yourself for does not even know you, will never even recognize you. You will be a fool to die for somebody who doesn’t care about you,” he admonished.
