
The Karaga District Chief Executive (DCE), Alhassan Yabdoo has mobilized relief items to support members of the Fulani community of Bagurugu which was attacked over the weekend.
The attackers burnt over a dozen houses and livestock belonging to the herdsmen.
The Northern Regional Police command is yet to effect any arrest over the crimes.
Speaking to Citi News the DCE Alhassan Yabdoo stated that the assembly will take care of the medical bills of the injured victims as well as lead efforts to rehabilitate them.
“Some benevolent organizations have sent some support. Yesterday in the evening, the District Assembly was able to send them about two bags of rice and some gallon of oil with tomatoes. We have also asked for the medical bills of those who were sent to the hospital. As at now they are still hunting for the perpetrators and you can’t leave the bills on them to pay so we have asked the doctors to send me the bills. We are still quantifying whatever was destroyed, the destruction was terrible.”
The DCE Alhassan Yabdo also advised the youth to live peaceably with the Fulani community and rethink about their actions.
