Asante Kotoko’s new Tecnical Director and interim coach Karim Zito has issued a fiery rallying cry to his players, declaring “it’s not over until it’s done” as the team mounts a determined push for success in the remaining matches of the season.
The former Dreams Fc manager is on a mission to turn the team’s season around.
After the sacking of Prosper Ogum, Zito has taken the reins, bringing his wealth of experience and tactical expertise to the Porcupine Warriors.
With six matches remaining and 18 points up for grabs, Kotoko sits in fourth place with six points shy of the summit, but Zito remains optimistic about the team’s chances.
Speaking on his first official media appearance after joining the porcupine warriors, the 64-year-old remains optimistic about the team’s chances of achievement something positive.
“We reminded them (Kotoko’s players) that it is not over until it is done,” Zito said, emphasizing the importance of staying focused and determined.
“In these games, we will play against those at the top, and we can do something.”
Zito’s words have injected a much-needed dose of confidence into the team, and the players are eager to put his plans into action.
The upcoming match on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium against Aduana FC is crucial for Kotoko, and Zito knows it.
“The hope will begin on Sunday,” he declared, “so this game is more crucial to me than any other.”
The team’s fate hangs in the balance, and Zito’s leadership will be instrumental in determining their trajectory.
A former player and head coach of Asante Kotoko, Coach Zito returns with vast experience from both club and national levels, including guiding Dreams FC to a historic CAF Confederation Cup semi-final and leading Ghana’s U-20 team to the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations title. He will also serve as Acting Head Coach on an interim basis until a substantive head coach is appointed.
With his guidance, Kotoko’s players will need to dig deep and tap into their reserves of determination and resilience.
