Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has completed a transfer to Coventry City, finalising a four-year deal with the Championship club.
The move marks the end of his tenure at West Bromwich Albion, where he made a significant impact over the past two seasons.
Thomas-Asante’s move to Coventry City comes after a near-deal with Hull City. The striker was even spotted at the MKM Stadium earlier this week, where his transfer to Hull appeared imminent. However, Coventry City, with the assistance of Ghanaian coach George Boateng—now a first-team coach at the Sky Blues—successfully persuaded Thomas-Asante to join them instead.

Manager Mark Robins expressed his enthusiasm about the new signing:
“We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Coventry City. He is a powerful and pacy striker who has goalscoring pedigree at this level plus a great attitude and work rate. Brandon can play across the front line and will further strengthen our attacking options. We look forward to working with him at Coventry City.”
Thomas-Asante, known for his prolific scoring ability, was the top goalscorer for West Bromwich Albion in both of his seasons with the club, netting 9 goals in the 2022/23 season and 12 in the 2023/24 season. In total, he made 78 appearances for the Baggies, leaving a notable mark with his consistent performances.

His impressive form at West Brom earned him a call-up to the Ghana national team, where he made his debut in a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic in Kumasi in June.
The addition of Thomas-Asante is expected to bolster Coventry City’s attacking options as they aim for a push towards Premier League promotion.
His versatility and proven goalscoring ability make him a valuable asset for the Sky Blues’ campaign.
