FC Samartex 1996, the newly crowned Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions, are committed to maintaining their long-term development strategy despite their unexpected early success.
Club President Richard Nsenkyire has emphasized that winning the league in only their second season will not derail their original five-year plan.
“The project is continuing. It has always been a 5-year development project and it is a work in progress. Clinching the ultimate trophy (GPL) was planned but it came too early,” Nsenkyire told 3Sports.
As the fourth team from western Ghana to secure the GPL title, Samartex recognizes the importance of sustainable growth. The club intends to focus on key areas for improvement.
“We want to strengthen our scouting unit, improve on technology, logistics, and pitches. We really want to make sure we provide the right logistics for the team to perform well,” Nsenkyire added
FC Samartex 1996’s commitment to their long-term vision, despite early success, demonstrates a mature and strategic approach to club development.
By refusing to be swayed by their unexpected triumph and instead focusing on infrastructure and talent development, Samartex is positioning itself for sustained success in domestic competitions and potential growth on the continental stage as they represent Ghana in the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League
