Boy, 4, shot dead by 6-yr-old brother

A four year old boy has ‘mistakenly’ been shot dead by his six year old brother at Somanya in the Yilo Krobo district of the Eastern Region.

The boy, identified as Alex Ologo Amanor was shot in the head, with the brain gushing out in the process.

Residents said the tragic incident occurred at about 2:30pm Thursday April 19, 2018.

Tenants in the house said they heard a gunshot and rushed into the room only to find the four year old boy  motionless in a pool of blood.

Parents of the children were not at home at the time of the incident.

The body of the deceased has since been taken to the Atua Government Hospital for autopsy.

The Somanya police says the locally manufactured gun used by the boy is not registered and belongs to a 70-year-old grandfather of the victim.

The police have begun investigations into the case.
